It's been a while

I am making this lap blanket for my husband, Paul...he LOVES Donald Duck and I just know he will love this Christmas present!

This is my sister in law's Christmas present...the front is cotton and the back is fleece!

This one is for my baby brother...he loves John Deere

My mother in law is getting this for her birthday!...she has tropical fish in her bathroom.

This is our front door...festive huh?

Babies for my babies!!!

This one is for my neice Meaghan...
I made her a rag doll and quilt for the doll for Christmas!

And this one is for my other neice, Keira!

Two rows down six to go...

Two of eight rows done...and I thought I would show them to you...

There will be more colorful rows between the top and bottom one and between all the rows...not quite as RANDOM as I was thinking but it is different and turning out kinda cool! :D

Ian's BIG BOY Quilt

Well here is my next project...I got the "baby" quilts done but Ian doesn't have a twin size quilt for his bed...so I thought maybe I should work on that next...I was gonna just put two sheets together and be done with it but come on...what's the fun in that...plus my mom has been telling me I should use my scraps so I will NOT be buying any extra fabric (hopefully)! :D

These are my scraps...some of them....I want to keep it bright and I think these will help...they are totally random sizes so I am gonna try out a random pattern with random sizes we'll see how it works!

This is a sheet I am gonna cut up for the front of the quilt as well...I'm not sure if I am gonna try and cut so that I have certain pictures or if I am just gonna cut squares and hope that we can see the characters....we'll see! :D I have NO plan really! :D

This is the sheet I am using for the backing...I believe this sheet cost me $1 and I believe the other one cost me about the same...so plus the scraps (which are pretty much free) and the batting for $6 this should cost less then $10...not too bad! :D

Check back soon and see how it is coming along! :D

ALL DONE!!!

Even though we found out we are having a girl I still wanted to finish the "boys"quilt that way i can enter it in the fair AND just incase the ultrasound saw something wrong we will have a backup!! :D So here it is...the only thing left is to let it dry in the dryer as much at I can so it will "fluff" more but it really just needs use! :D Hope you like it!

I took this close up so you could see how you cut it and how it fluffs in the washer and dryer! :D

Almost done...

Well I got most of it done...I just have to clip the fabric so it can fray and get soft...here is what it looks like...

Front

Back

How you cut to fray them...it is gonna take a LONG time! :D

Baby Ella's quilt is finished!!!

IT'S DONE!!! IT'S DONE!!! IT'S DONE!!!

Just to make sure everyone is well aware NO we still dont know if we are having a girl...but I am planning both ways so I started this quilt on Sun. and finished it today! :D I am so excited and I think it turned out even better then I was hoping! I am so proud of it...sorry to brag! :D
Here is the front of it...you see when you scroll down how I "quilted" on the "quilted" looking parts...and it got kinda puffed up which I like a lot!!!

Here is the back of it...which you can see the stitching...I think it turned out to be a cool pattern! :D

And here is the crib...it just needs a HOT PINK sheet and it will be set! :D Problem is the cats and Ian think it is the coolest place in the house...gonna have to fix that! :D

Baby Girl Quilt Continued!

Here are what the "quilted" blocks are gonna all look like...I got one done but i wanted to update for you guys!!! The backing is HOT pink as you can see and I ended up using HIGH LOFT (which means it is thicker) batting for the middle...and I think that it is turning out super cute! :D Sure hope we have a girl! ;)
I am stitching along all the lines to make it look quilted and then around the outside to really finish it up! :D

Here is a "angled" shot so you can see how it is kinda rising up which I LOVE...I like how it looks kind puffy!!! :D I can't wait until it is done.

This is how the back of a quilted piece looks...not my best work...but I have never done this before either so...I should have or at least could have used Pink thread but I just stuck with the white...too late now..I am NOT pulling them all out! :D Ella wont care! ;) Oh and just a side note...the picture makes it look like it isn't a perfect square..that part is just the picture I was complaining about the stitching itself that i wasn't super happy with! :D

Well that is it for now...I will have to take a break for a little bit...it is too nice out at the moment to keep quilting and there will be a little boy who will wanna go out and play getting up from his nap soon so...check back later and see if I have done more! SEE YA!

Baby Girl Quilt

Here is what we are using for the baby girl's quilt...the colors are a bit off...the left fabric is bright pink...and the other one is a golden yellow that matches the squares on the other one! Check back and I will post more pictures of what it looks like as I go! :D

So here is what I think I am gonna make it look like in the end...cuz the lines wont match up perfectly on the "quilted" looking part so I figured I should make them completely crazy looking! :D

Here are the panels of the top of the quilt...now I have to put them together and get a border! I am gonna try to finish it tonight! :D

Pretty much done...

Here it is...I have to wash it yet and add a couple more ties cuz some were missing from the original bumper pad but this is pretty much what it will look like in the crib! :D

Girl Bumper Pad

Here is what I have started this morning...our girl bumper pad...here is the fabric and the bumper pad before I did anything to it...I will add more when I get something done! :D I am also gonna make a girl baby quilt with this fabric in it...not sure what it will look like yet but...for sure it will be BRIGHT!!!

Past Projects

A few older projects...

I made this wall hanging just to see if I liked doing the type of quilting...it was ok...kinda time consuming.

Then I started this "boys" quilt...incase the baby is a boy...but since we dont know yet I got tired of the boy one and wanted to start working on the girl stuff...cuz I have the bumper pad and sheets for a boys bedroom but not a girls...so I am gonna start working on the girls stuff...by the way this is a "rag" quilt...so when I get it done it will make more sense as to why it looks like this!
