Ian Quilting

Ian has been BEGGING me to learn how to sew...and since I think I told him once he turned 5 I would teach him (he is almost 6 now) I thought it was time to get on that...so I taught him how to sew a quilt...a mini one to give to his sister...they were both very excited about it!!!

Here's some pictures!
Ian...figuring out his layout...I didn't get ones of him cutting but all I did was write straight lines on the fabric and handed him a sewing scissors...he did pretty well! Rotary cutter will come in the later years!
His layout.
The BEST part....time to sew!!!
I missed some pictures in between...but we are up to sewing all the layers together...
Taking out all the pins.
Cutting off the excess.
We turned it...sewed the opening shut....he wanted to do it on the machine not by hand...I figured it was his first so it was ok...and we are DONE!

He had a BLAST! He said now he wants to try sewing doll clothes for his sister! :D What a good boy!

Bookcase Door

I once again got into trouble on Pinterest...and saw this... Bookcase Door ...and HAD to make one...so here it is...I hope Paul likes it when he gets home!!!!

I know it looks like I forgot part of the back...NOPE...it's a kitty hole! The kitties go in the basement to go potty...so they needed to be able to get through...
See? George is showing it off for me! :D
Another view...I couldn't get a straight on shot cuz it's in a cramped area...but I think it will work nicely!

Princess Dresses

My niece is having a PRINCESS party...and I wanted my daughter to look ADORABLE...so I made her this...
Princess Ella

But we needed presents for the birthday girls (they are celebrating with a friend's little girl too)...so here are THEIR dresses...
My niece's dress...it's suppose to be BELLE

And this is for the other birthday girl!! It's Cinderella!

HAPPY SEWING!!!

Oven Cleaner

Well I had to try out a couple of other things I found on Pinterest... Oven Cleaner and Stove Cleaner and Oven Door Cleaner and here's how it went...
I forgot to take a "Before" picture...this is with baking soda on it...but still nasty...
This is after wiping and some scrubbing...it isn't perfect...but it is BETTER...and it will do...even though I followed the directions perfectly for the glass on the door it didn't come clean...oh well...probably from the people who lived here before...I put foil in the bottom and have decided that if Paul makes a mess...HE IS CLEANING IT NEXT TIME! :D

Stove Top Cleaner

So I saw this on Pinterest... Stove Top Cleaner ...and wanted to try it...
Gross huh?
EWWWWWW
Clean and pretty...
PRETTY!!!!

It took a LOT more elbow grease then I would have liked...maybe I didn't let them sit long enough...it was about 10pm when I put them in a bag and started cleaning them at 8am...but an SOS pad and some scrubbing and we were good to go...and for the stove top I used baking soda paste...VERY NICE! Here comes the oven....

Ruler

After seeing this on Pinterest... "little-ruler-project" ...I had to do it!!!! So here's mine...
Just have to add the kids measurements...which I have on a paper ruler since we have always lived in apartments I didn't want to put them on a door jam or anything...I'm gonna go buy a pink and a blue sharpie marker...and mark the two kids!!! I should do my husband and I too!

"Cami Band"?

I wanted to try to make a "Cami Band" but didn't want to buy the fabric and stuff...so I went to Savers...my favorite place!..and bought a few tank tops...and cut the top off...and serged them...and poof...pretty much the same thing...I might add some elastic to them though at the top...here are just a couple of them...and yeah I know I am not as skinny as the models on the other website...oh well!

With Gray One
With White One

The white one I bought...
I just cut the top off...
And serged around the top...I should add elastic though
